About Dr. Romine

Kristine A. Romine, MD is the CEO and founder of Camelback Dermatology & Skin Surgery in Phoenix, AZ. She holds a position as adjunct faculty at Midwestern University, Glendale, AZ campus, educating medical students, residents, and physician assistant students. Dr. Romine received her Medical Degree, with highest honors, from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She then moved home to Phoenix to help care for her ailing father and completed a residency in Internal Medicine and chief residency in Internal Medicine, both at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She then pursued and completed a residency in Dermatology & Mohs surgery training at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. She served as Chief Resident and is honored to be the first graduating resident from this highly successful program. Dr. Romine moved to a beautiful part of the country to begin private practice with a well-established group in Oak Ridge, TN for five years, however, the dream of starting her own practice remained one of her goals.

In the summer of 2003, Dr. Romine moved back to her home and founded Camelback Dermatology & Skin Surgery, which has become a premier private dermatology practice. Dr. Romine is at the top of her field specializing in Surgical, Cosmetic and Laser dermatology. Her expertise in part is derived from her knowledge of anatomy and love of surgery, which is a large part of her practice. Her patients routinely travel great distances for her skills both for cosmetic procedures and surgery.

Dr. Romine is a highly respected and invited media personality in the area of cosmetic dermatology and surgery. She also lectured nationally on "Partnering with Patients for a Lifetime of Healthy, Beautiful Skin" to her peers in the fields of plastic surgery and dermatology. She also educates the public on many topics including cosmetic procedures as well as sun protection. She is an invited speaker and hands on trainer for cosmetic procedures including demonstrating advanced techniques for soft tissue fillers, laser treatments, and facial and body rejuvenation at many national meetings.

Dr. Romine has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, as well as magazine and print articles for nationwide news sources. She has been honored as a "Top Doctor" by Phoenix Magazine in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 and was the featured "Top Doc" including profile and cover story for the 2007 edition. Dr. Romine remains an active fellow of many relevant national organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Mohs Surgery, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, Women’s Dermatologic Society, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology & Aesthetic Surgery. Dr. Romine has served as a national trainer for Allergan, Galderma, Medicis, and Merz.

Dr. Romine is a wife and devoted mother of 4 wonderful children and loves traveling, yoga, reading, and spending time with her family.

Professional Biography

Dr. Romine handles all skin problems ranging from the most common such as acne, warts, psoriasis, and eczema, to the most unusual skin disorders. She also performs surgical procedures, including the removal of moles, warts and other skin tumors and growths. Her surgical procedures include freezing (cryosurgery) as well as the typical excision of lesions. Patch testing is performed for suspected contact dermatitis. Dr. Romine’s practice is dedicated to patient education and she and her staff thoroughly explain each diagnosis. A recommendation is presented along with all of the risks and alternative treatment options. Educational resources such as pamphlets, brochures and DVD’s are provided. Dr. Romine encourages your questions and concerns and assures you they will be answered with candor and compassion.

Professional Biography

Amena DeLuca, MD is a board-certified Dermatologist who specializes in Mohs surgery. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Arizona State University. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arizona. During Medical School, she pursued a one-year research fellowship in melanoma genetics at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD, she went on to complete her residency training in Dermatology at Johns Hopkins, where she was selected to serve as the Chief Resident in her last year of training. She then completed a fellowship specializing in Mohs surgery and cosmetic procedures at California Skin Institute. She has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles on cutaneous oncology. She is a member of The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Her main interests lie in Mohs surgery as well as General Dermatology, lasers, and cosmetic procedures. In her free time, she enjoys exploring all the outdoor activities our area has to offer

Brent Sloten, DO

A board-certified dermatologist, Brent Sloten has been in private practice since 2002. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Sloten attended The Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was awarded his degree in 1996. He completed a traditional rotating internship at St. Barnabas Hospital, located in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Sloten then went on to complete his Dermatological residency at the Western University of Health Sciences' Arizona division. He is a clinical assistant professor at Midwestern University School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Sloten is a specialist in all areas of dermatology – medical, surgical, and cosmetic. He serves all age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults.
Jeffrey S. Bosley-PA-C
Jeffrey S. Bosley, PA-C

Jeffrey S. Bosley-PA-C is a National Board Certified Physician Assistant. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical School where he received his Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. For twelve years, he worked in Family Medicine while serving in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, he began a career in dermatology at a practice in North Carolina.

In 2015, he moved from North Carolina to Arizona to join Camelback Dermatology. He is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants. His special interests include acne, skin cancer, psoriasis, and general dermatology. Outside of dermatology he enjoys spending time with his family, breeding and training horses, as well as other outdoor activities.

After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Communications at Arizona State University, Adrea decided to pursue her passion and return to school at D’Armi Aesthetics in Scottsdale, AZ to become a licensed aesthetician.

Adrea has been a member of the team at Camelback Dermatology since 2005. She has advanced training in chemical peels, microdermabrasion and dermaplaning, as well as certifications in many skincare lines, including Obagi, PCA, and Glytone. Ongoing training programs are part of Adrea’s continuing education, which allows her to stay up to date with the cutting edge of skincare techniques.

Adrea is knowledgeable on all cosmetic procedures the office offers. She works hand in hand with Dr. Romine to develop a personalized treatment plan to help you obtain and maintain healthy, beautiful skin. Kristel Zierwick, CMLT, LMA

Kristel grew up in Minnesota and moved to Arizona in 2001 to attend Arizona State University.  She has worked in the cosmetic and skincare industry since 2001. While attending Arizona State University to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Communication Studies, Kristel worked for Nordstrom in Scottsdale for 10 years as the Counter Manager for Clinique and then as an Assistant Department Manager for Cosmetics and Fine Fragrances.  Kristel decided that skin health is her passion and joined the team at Camelback Dermatology in 2012.  She attended Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics to become a licensed Aesthetician and Clearskin Institute of Laser Aesthetics to obtain her laser certification.

Kristel has advanced training in photofacials, laser peels, fractional laser, tattoo removal, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and dermaplaning, as well as certifications from Sciton, Cutera, SkinMedica, PCA Skin, Rhonda Allison, VI Peel, SilkPeel, and Isolaz. Ongoing training programs are part of Kristel’s continuing education, which allows her to stay up to date in the industry.

Tara Hudson, LMA
Tara Hudson, CMLT, LMA

Tara has always had a passion for helping people keep their skin healthy and beautiful. After attending Steiner School of Esthetics in 2012, she worked as the aesthetician at Rolf’s Salon & Spa. Tara decided to follow her passion for a more clinical opportunity to help others with skin health. That led her here to Camelback Dermatology & Skin Surgery in 2014. She began her career as a member of the front office while working with Dr. Romine to become versed in the medical side of aesthetics. Tara then went on to attend Clearskin Institute of Laser Aesthetics to obtain her laser certification.

Tara has advanced training in laser services such as photofacials, vein treatments, laser peels, and fractional laser treatments including Halo.

Tara also has extensive training and experience in chemical peels, dermaplaning, microneedling, Infini, ThermiVa as well as body contouring treatments like Vanquish and Exilis.

Continuing education is part of Tara’s training so that she can learn more skills to be well rounded in all treatments that we offer here at Camelback Dermatology & Skin Surgery to add to her repertoire and to maintain her status as a leader in her field.

Kim Hendricks, CPC

Kim has been a member of the Camelback Dermatology & Skin Surgery team since 2003. She received her Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa, and in 2002, became a certified member of the American Association of Professional Coders.

Kim performs all day to day billing functions for our practice, including claims submission, payment posting, claims follow-up, and patient statements. By attending ongoing seminars and workshops, and subscribing to various publications, Kim stays current with medical coding and billing issues. Her background includes administrative positions within the insurance industry as well as private physician practices.
